House corporations own, finance, and care for the homes our chapters live in. Too many are carried by one or two volunteers with no one behind them. If you have professional skills and 5 to 10 hours a month, CHI will connect you with a house corporation that needs exactly what you bring.
A house corporation is the alumni board that owns or leases a chapter house and runs its maintenance, finances, and operations. It is separate from the chapter and the advisory board, and it is where the long-term health of the house is decided. CHI matches volunteers with house corporations based on location, professional background, and what each house needs most right now. You may serve your own chapter or one that needs you more.
You don’t have to find a house corporation on your own. Tell us who you are and what you’re good at, and CHI does the legwork.
You don’t need to have served before. You need useful skills and the willingness to show up.
In CHI’s survey of house corporation officers, leadership succession scored lowest of any capability area. When the one brother who knows where everything is steps away, the house feels it: deferred repairs, missed filings, a treasurer’s job nobody wants. CHI is building a bench of ready volunteers so that doesn’t have to happen.
This is not a search for names on a roster. It is a search for brothers who will keep the doors open.
